Lagos Chambers of Commerce Says Nigeria's Economy is Second Largest

Some cheering news for Nigerians. President of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Goodie Ibru has forecast Nigeria's economy to be the second largest in recent years in Africa.

According to Mr. Ibru in a statement, the country had an estimated gross domestic product (GDP) running into 300 billion US dollars. He pointed out that Nigeria's persistent problem has been how to utilize her enterprising population and abundant natural resources for the benefit of Nigerians.

"The economy is inhibited by serious issues of infrastructure deficits, especially with regards to power supply, currently at less than 4, 000 megawatts, transportation, logistics, the quality of institutions, costs and access to funds," the statement quoted him as saying.

Always the same type of talk. I thought our power  generation is now over 4000 megawatts. Are we going forward are backward?
