I'M THE GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA, I'M RESPONSIBLE (A POEM)

We are responsible for what Nigeria is today.
We are all responsible for Boko Haram
We are all responsible for the billion dollar lootings since 1999.
We are responsible for the kidnappings in the Owerri and the killings in Plateau
We've been responsible since 1999.
For every moment an igbo man thinks of all hausa men as killers, he is responsible.
For the time i see a girl hawking on the streets when i know she should be in school, when i know i can help her, when i do nothing, i am responsible.
Each time every Adeboye thinks of every Obi as a greedy or shrewd man, he is responsible.
For every moment i allow the barber to leave a music video with half naked women playing before my son, i am responsible.
For every moment i celebrate a politician when he is right, and don't condemn him when he is wrong or vice versa, i am responsible.
For every moment i use curses and insults to disagree with even my blood brother, i am responsible for Nigeria.
For when i start a business here and grow it to multiple profits, employing some graduates, i am responsible for Nigeria.
We were all responsible for the historic and peaceful transition of power in 2015.
We are all responsible for Chinua Achebe's global prominece, for Tiwa Savage's fame, for Aliko Dangote's wealth today.
For the day Super Eagles will win the World cup, we are responsible.
Nigeria is my country, i am responsible for it.
For every moment i blame the government for my condition, i relinquish my power to create a better future for my self and Nigeria. They will do what they like with that power.
I am the goverment. It's not Aso Rock. I i'm the government of Nigeria.

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has alleged that the governing All Progressives Congress, APC-led federal government plans to arrest the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

Mr. Metuh said the APC leadership is not happy with the emergence of Mr. Ekweremadu, a PDP member, as the Deputy Senate President and that after several attempts to make him resign, has now resorted to underhand tactics.
He said since President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement that Mr. Ekweremadu’s election was ‘unacceptable’ to his party, the Deputy Senate President, who can only be removed by the Senate, has come under threats and intense pressure from APC leaders to resign and allow a senator from the ruling party to take his position.

Pastor Oritsejafor's Jet That Smuggled $9.3 million Had Nigerians Aboard

New documents obtained by PREMIUM TIMES in Johannesburg have shown that the private jet owned by President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor that conveyed $9.3 million cash from Nigeria to South Africa for an arms deal between the two countries, had Nigerian crew members, and passengers from Israel and Austria.

PREMIUM TIMES obtained the manifest of the jet that transported the huge sum, and has confirmed the identities of the passengers and crew who delivered the controversial package.

South Africa seized the money early September, accusing the Nigerian government of violating its laws regulating the transfer of cash.

Another payment by the Nigerian government for arms to combat the extremist Boko Haram sect, was also confiscated. The second transfer, totalling $5.7 million, was wired through the banks.

The South African ambassador to Nigeria was later quoted as saying the money had been returned to Nigeria, a claim that has yet to be verified.
